This group is meant for parents who are raising their children to speak English as a second native language in (or near) Bielefeld. Most activities are organised by me, Heddwen. I am a mum of a 4 and 8-year-old hoping to get more English-speaking input into their lives. I organise events like Halloween, pot-luck picnics, meetups with English activities and games for the kids, and story-time at the Bielefeld library. By now we have a lovely group of regulars, and quite a few families who join once in a while, meaning each meetup is fun and lively.
Update 1: as of mid-May 2025, instead of having a regular meetup outside of the Story Times, we will plan a meetup three or four times a year in the WhatsApp group by voting for a date and time.
Update 2: as of mid-May 2025, the newsletter no longer exists, and we only have a WhatsApp group. (Basically all families were in the WhatsApp group, so putting out a newsletter too was just double work for me.)
